独特的“舍堂文化“

香港大学的“舍堂文化“独居特色，吸引大批学子争相入住，即使是身在香港本地的同学，也愿意舍弃自家舒适的卧室，去体验一下宿舍的氛围。

无论是拥有超过半个世纪历史的传统舍堂，例如圣约翰学院，利玛窦宿舍，大学堂等，还是八九十年代成立的半传统舍堂，例如太古堂、李国贤堂、伟伦堂，或是在新千年之后成立的新Hall，都拥有各自独特的文化。

研究生在选择舍堂时的尴尬

可是最近发生的一系列香港大学舍堂里的事件，令到大众对舍堂文化的关注和争论又到了风口浪尖，相信大家都有所耳闻。有鉴于此，想要入住的学生们在选择舍堂的时候也更加小心。

特别是研究生群体，宿舍的选择面则更加窄，不仅仅是因为留给研究生的宿舍位置比较少，更是因为传说中传统Hall里面肆无忌惮的学生宿管委员会令到研究生们心生畏惧。

传说中宿舍里3点还有学生们在踢球，在Readmission的时候还要唱Hall之歌，一个不小心，就会被踢出Hall, 无家可归。

不过，其实研究生去宿舍入住，可以不仅仅是当舍友

那有没有办法既能体会到舍堂丰富多彩的文化，又可以不受到学生宿管委员会的管制呢？而且还可以找到志同道合的一帮人作自己喜欢的事呢？

最佳的方案就是去舍堂里当Tutor啦。

港大的所有Hall都设立有Tutor Committee，每一间Hall都必须保证有若干Tutor，Senior Tutor以及Warden 来保证宿舍学生的生活质量。

不同于传统Hall的College

为了增加学生的选择面，锐意改革的香港大学在2010年左右，模仿剑桥大学College文化修建了赛马会学生宿舍第三村，包含有四大学院，包括信新学院，志新学院，立之学院，以及日新学院。

这四间学院与传统Hall不同的地方就是：

这里没有学生宿管委员会。

实际上College为了有别于传统Hall里的文化氛围，专门取消了学生宿管委员会这一自治机构，而把大部分的权利都交于了Tutor手上。

所以在College里面，作为Tutor你可以充分发挥自己的才干，去引领学生的各种活动。大部分的活动仍然是由学生团队们自己成立Committee管理，作为Tutor，只需要控制活动的质量，及时为学生们定场地，报销账目，保证各个活动能丰富学生们的生活。

注重环保的日新学院

类似于Hall的文化传统，每一间College也都有自己的一些特点。比如说日新学院，就注重环保以及可持续发展，学生们甚至在楼下就开垦了一块“日新农场”，用来种植可食用或是可观赏的植物。

当然，学院里面还有大约三十个Team，分属体育，文化，娱乐，服务等几大类，每一类都有各种小组，每个月都有十几场活动或是Workshop等你参加。如果你有兴趣，甚至可以自己成立一个Team。

High Table Dinner

日新学院每个月都有逼格满满的High Table Dinner，大家都穿上仿佛哈利波特似的袍子，坐在一起用餐，交流，认识朋友。

而作为Tutor，每个月的High Table Dinner都是免费参加的！！

首先，你可以只用一半的宿舍费入住一间单人间。

然后，每个月的High Table Dinner都是免费参加的。

而责任，一方面需要你负责一到两层的学生的生活，另一方面也需要为两到三个学生团队们负责。其它方面在官方文档里都有说明。

Honorary ResidentTutor in New College

Applicationsare invited for appointment as Honorary ResidentTutor (3 posts) in New College.  The appointment will be from as soon aspossible for a period of 1 year in the first instance.

The main ethos of the New College is theenvironment and sustainability. Through hands-on experience and discussions, weprovide an active learning platform for our students to acquire the necessaryknowledge and skills in sustainable living and at the same time nurture theirlove and care for nature. We encourage residents to think outside the box andbe exposed to disciplines beyond their academic faculty and learn to be moreaware of the overall well-being of the larger community.

New College has54single and 177 double rooms, with a rough ratio of 55:45between undergraduates and postgraduates in 2017-18.  Local, overseas and Mainlandstudents are evenly represented in the College.

TheCollege also provides amenities to facilitate student learning and communityengagement projects.

Honorary Resident Tutors: Applicants should be full-time postgraduatestudents. The appointee will be provided with accommodation at half of the normal lodging charge, and free high-table and special functiondinners.

The appointees will normally be required toreside in the College.

The appointee will assist the Master and Deputy Master in the design and executionof the educational activities in the College.  They will also be responsible for the disciplineand general morale and welfare of members of the College; serve on a dutyroster in the evenings whenever required; get to know the residents; conductinformal group discussions with them from time to time and give them generaladvice individually or collectively.
